I earned my first digital dollar in January 2011 (Obama’s FIRST term in office)

It was a $25 affiliate commission from Host Gator. After earning multiple six figures online, it was still the most impactful dollar I ever done earned, for two reasons:

1. It showed me it was possible to earn money online (back then it was a different landscape)
2. More importantly, it proved I could earn money online. 

I’ve had a heap of failures along the way, and a few wins – similar to my Detroit sports teams! 

MY JOURNEY: 

2011 – Earned my first digital dollar

2011 – 2015 – Sold website design, SEO and Facebook advertising services to local businesses. 

2015 – Launched a Shopify store selling women’s jewelry. This was my first big success. Created and sold a course on how I did it and generated $17,277.01 in 30 days. 

2016 – Shut down the Shopify store, as I was miserable. I chased the money, and lost the desire to sell turquoise owl earnings to Helen in Des Moines, Iowa. 

2017 – 2020 – Jumped from idea to idea, business model to business model, social platform to social platform. (read: I was spinning my wheels for years. Not recommended)

2020 – Jumped on Tik Tok and had success with affiliate marketing. 

2024 – I jumped on Threads with a “Serve First’ approach. Launched a $17 ebook on July 1st that earned $14,305 in July. 

It’s been a bumpy road.
